Seychelles
The palest of pink sands of Anse Source d’Argent that sweep across La Digue island are amongst the world’s most photographed beaches and are part of the 115 components of an archipelago that sit on the Indian Ocean. The sands glisten against a beautiful backdrop of granite boulders that have been worn away by time and weather. The turquoise water is shallow and protected from the ocean’s waves by a reef. The Maldives offers a wonderful choice of destination, whether your dream beach journey involves spending several luxurious nights in a four-star resort or swimming amongst brightly-coloured tropical fish underwater, the Maldives are the kind of islands where both your dreams can be realised. Sitting on the Equator southwest of Sri Lanka, the Maldives is made up of over 1,100 islands which make up 26 atolls. The soft, warm air wallowing over the archipelago filters into a pretty palm-fringed haze, making it one of the most picturesque visions known.
Bora Bora, Tahiti
Bora Bora is one of the magical islands that make up French Polynesia in the South Pacific. This tiny island which is only 29 kilometers long sits in a protected lagoon edged by white sandy shores, the best one being at Matira Point. Bora Bora has been nicknamed the “romantic island,” and it’s easy to see why with its quiet atmosphere, isolated beaches and stunning hotels. Often described as heaven on earth, it was also the inspiration behind a well-known stage musical back in the 1980’s.

The Hamptons, New York
The Hamptons boasts some of the prettiest beaches on Long Island and is known for being popular with the well-heeled set and a place where Wall Street’s richest retreat for the summer. The Hamptons’ unspoiled shoreline begins near Southampton and runs east to the end of the island at Montauk where waving grass and windswept dunes border the Atlantic Ocean. Not for the faint-hearted, forty dollars buys you a parking spot for the day, but at least access to the beach is free!
Lanikai Beach, Hawaii
Half a mile of sparkling sand and lush palm trees swaying over white beaches, tropical plants and non-stop sunshine make Lanikai one of Hawaii’s most beautiful and scenic beaches. The shore is protected by a nearby coral reef that keeps the surf relatively calm. The water is always deep green and picture postcard-perfect, as those who were Hawaii Five-O fans will recall!
