WhatsApp Will Soon Be Integrated Into Facebook

News leaked this week that Facebook is currently experimenting how to incorporate WhatsApp into the main Facebook app on Android phones.

In October of last year, Facebook purchased WhatsApp for $22 billion. Analysts questioned whether, with WhatsApp’s $10.2 million of yearly sales, the acquisition would be worth it. Zuckerberg has come under further criticism in Facebook’s most recent earnings reports, and probed about what his WhatsApp strategy was exactly.

With this news, things finally seem to be falling into place. After 4 years of fantastic growth, analysts are speculating that WhatsApp will soon be more heavily integrated with the main Facebook app.

Zuckerberg (along with WhatsApp execs) has stated that his WhatsApp strategy will be slow, but steady. “For the next few years our focus is going to continue to be on growth,” said WhatsApp’s CEO, Jan Koum. “We’re going to focus on growth and not do any kind of experimentation with monetization today.”

Traders are eagerly anticipating trading Facebook’s upcoming earnings report, which will be released after market close on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. The report will include the financial data of Facebook’s first quarter of 2015.
