A little less than two weeks ago, when Twitter announced that Dick Costolo was stepping down, Snoop Dogg, the infamous rapper, immediately tweeted that he would be glad to fill the position. The idea seems absolutely ludicrous at first glance, but when pausing to think about it, it might not be an awful choice.
Snoop Dogg began his campaign for CEO by calling upon his 12 million followers to show their support via the hashtag #ifSnoopWasTwitterCEO. And the social media wave began.
As for Twitter’s board of directors, they recently came out saying they are only looking for candidates “who are in a position to make a full-time commitment to Twitter.”
For now, let’s take a step back and take a closer look at Snoop’s major tweets, thus far:
Many are saying that Snoop has already shown a flare for business thus far in his career. He has built an empire worth over $100,000,000 by trying his hand in a wide variety of sectors (notably: rap, movies, and business).
When Dick Costolo became Twitter CEO in 2010, the company was worth $3 billion. Today, financial analysts value the company at $26 billion. Who’s to say Snoop can’t take it to the next level?
