5 Ads That Will Make Your Jaw Drop

The world of advertising is increasingly changing.

In the past, viewers were bombarded with commercials while in the middle of their favorite television shows. We really had no choice but to sit through them.

Nowadays, we are largely given the choice whether to skip advertisements. On YouTube, for example, we usually only have to wait 5 seconds to skip to the content we REALLY want to see.

But, let’s hit the breaks, and contemplate for a moment.

Are commercials really that bad? There is a certain science, and wisdom, behind a great commercial. In this article, our team looks back in time at the most creative commercials which have managed to inspire (and sell a product) simultaneously.

1) Compaq computers compared to fish.

Monty Python star, John Cleese, did a whole series of these in the ’80s. There’s nothing like comedy to get the point across.

2) Nike’s “just do it” ads.

Talk about “suggestive selling.” These ads were invented in the late 1980′s. Many have said that they have a real sexual undertone.

3) Absolut Vodka ads.

Whoever thought Vodka could be so romanticized? This creative team deserves an applause.

4) Mastercard’s “Priceless” commercials.

It’s amazing how these commercials get you straight in the heart!

5) Shakira’s World Cup ads.

While it’s true that the world cup doesn’t need advertising, it’s nice that Shakira made this commercial anyways. This is truly a feel-good commercial for the whole family.
