A new social media initiative by McDonald’s will include filling in the public on the behind-the-scenes operations of the fast-food empire. Grant Imahara, former host of the popular TV-show “Mythbusters,” will be serving as host of this new video series which will include an investigative effort to reveal the ingredients of popular McDonald’s dishes.
A recent video set the records straight regarding whether or not McDonald’s uses “pink slime” in its beef. Imahara reported that McDonald’s does not use “pink slime.” In reality, McDonald’s uses chuck, round, and sirloin trimmings in the beef of its burgers. The new campaign is called: “Our food. Your questions,” and will also include interesting videos on the ingredients behind the McNuggets dish. McDonald’s hopes the move will boost its sales in the US which have been declining recently due to competition.
In the Works: China and Russia Discuss Railway
Recent talks between Chinese and Russian politicians suggest that China’s high-speed railway technology will soon be exported to Russia. 38 accords have already been signed as part of an initiative to build a high-speed railway which will connect Moscow and Kazhan (located in Tatarstan, Central Russia).
Banc De Binary analysts report that the railway assistance is part of a political effort by China to increase its import of Russian raw materials and energy. China recently signed a $400 billion deal with Gazprom for oil and gas, and the relationship will likely expand should China remain the world’s fastest-growing economy.
