What’s the point of success if you never give back? At Banc De Binary we believe that it’s important for businesses to support great community projects and we’re excited to announce one of our coolest ventures yet!
This year we are sponsoring Aliki Chrysochou to run in the Virgin Money London Marathon, the UK’s largest annual fundraising event. Every year runners enter the London Marathon on behalf of various charities. At last year’s marathon, over 77% of the runners represented charitable organizations.
Our runner Aliki is an acclaimed classical singer who made it through to the semi-finals on Season 7 of Britain’s Got Talent. During her first year of university she was diagnosed with encephalitis, a neurological condition which results in the inflammation of the brain and has serious debilitating symptoms. Aliki is fortunate enough to call herself a survivor, and now acts as an ambassador of The Encephalitis Society in order to raise awareness about this terrible disease.
Banc De Binary will be sponsoring Aliki to run on behalf of The Encephalitis Society in the 2015 London Marathon. We are so happy to support her on her mission to raise awareness for encephalitis research, and to help raise money for such a wonderful organization.
We will be release a series of videos documenting Aliki’s preparation for the Marathon, and why this mission is so important to her. Our first video, AWARENESS, tackles Aliki’s battle with encephalitis and why she agreed to run the 42K.
