The One-Woman Show: Alexandra Bailey

Eager to get into the industry and eager to rise within the ranks, full of energy and always to the point, Alexandra Bailey, Senior Account Executive at Banc de Binary, Cyprus, has found her niche in binary options. We managed to steal her away for a few moments one afternoon, to find out more about what makes her tick.

Alexandra, it’s great to catch up with you. You’ve been working here for a while now, but there is still so much we don’t know about you. Can you give us a taste of what makes you the ideal person for this job?

Sure, it’s nice to have the chance to talk about this! I have always felt that I was born to work in this industry, ever since I can remember. I have an innate need to know how everything works, how financial events are interconnected and how they affect the world around me. Information gives me the ability to make calculated and educated decisions - something which makes me feel in control. When I started working in the financial sector I realised that I had finally found what was missing in my life, so I jumped in head first, and never turned back. I was doing my MBA at the time, but I couldn’t lose the opportunity to launch my career, so I dropped out, moved country and made my job my world.

Wow, that couldn’t have been easy. You seem like a very strong-minded individual…

I am very independent. I have a system that works for me, and I stick to it. Although I enjoy being part of a team, at the end of the day, I don’t rely on others. In fact, I strongly believe that if you want something done, and done properly, you need to do it yourself. The financial world is very male dominated, so I think that my need to do everything on my own, and excel at what I do, is the only thing that has kept me going through it all.

It is true that it is challenging enough working in this field, let alone being a woman in a man’s world. What was your experience like?

Well, like every other hungry overachiever, I started in Forex from the bottom and slowly worked my way up. I had a vision of becoming a Senior Account Executive in a new and exciting firm, which is why when the opportunity presented itself for me to move to binary options it really was the answer to all my dreams. Banc De Binary was the perfect place for me to develop and make the most of my skills. I now run a one-man show – or should I say one-woman’s show!

So what’s your approach to clients?

I am the first face clients see, and the last, as I take them through the whole trading journey – and I am always there to listen and offer advice. Actually, I am known for walking around the office wearing my headset, talking animatedly to my clients on the phone - I never give up, when it comes to solving their issues and helping them succeed. Neither they, nor I, have to depend on anyone else’s ability. I provide them with all the educational tools I believe they require to succeed at trading binary options, and I teach them how to apply these tools and adhere to the very strict rules that our company has.

Tell us more about the rules…

I am very strict about the rules - I can be tough on clients who don’t respect them. That may sound drastic, but my reputation as a professional depends on it. I need them to stick by the book – this is the way for them to achieve and succeed. I’ve been told that I can be little harsh, but I think that is a small price to pay for being efficient and productive. My system is an effective one so far, and the best thing about it is that it can be personalised to suit everyone’s different targets.

Well it seems like you have a style of your own, and it works! Any last words?

It takes time and effort to build a habit of success – but I feel I have achieved this! I will leave you with a quote I really like: “It is just as easy to form the habit of succeeding as it is to succumb to the habit of failure. Habits are not instincts, they are acquired reactions. They don’t just happen, they are caused.”
